Once you have failed the knowledge test for the third time, you need to retake the classroom component of driver’s education or complete an 8-hour driver’s manual course to give the test the fourth time. The manual course is 8 hours long and is created to prepare the individuals of Virginia for the knowledge test. One important thing to keep in mind is that the date of completion of the driver’s manual course should be after the date of failure of the third knowledge test. Once you have successfully provided the DMV with your certificate of completion of either the classroom component of driver’s education or 8-hour driver’s manual course, you can retake the knowledge test again.
